Country Garden Plans to Construct Golf Courses in Forest City

July 05, 2017admin

Chinese property developer Country Garden Holdings announces to build golf courses in its Forest City, the large-scale residential project. This news is released on the "Development of Emerging Tourism in the Iskandar Development Region of Malaysia" - themed forum at the Seashell International Club in Forest City on June 20. There will be three 18-hole golf courses to be developed in Forest City. The world-famous golf course designer Jack Nicklaus and his eldest son Jack Nicklaus II will jointly design the first course in Forest City Phase Two, a over 8-square-kilometre project.

Besides Jack Nicklaus II, Iskandar Regional Development Authority chief executive Ismail Ibrahim, Johor Golf Tourism Association president Colonel Mohammed Jamal Salleh, and several keynote speakers have attended the forum. Quite a few golf and travel enthusiasts from Singapore and Malaysia also join this event.

Golf Course Designer Introduction

Jack William Nicklaus is one of the most successful professional golf players in the USA. He was not only awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by George Walker Bush at the White House, but was also the only non-royal to have an image bearing his likeness appear on British pound notes while living.

Jack Nicklaus II, the eldest son of Jack Nicklaus, is known as Golfer of the Century and Golfer of the Millennium. He started his professional career with remarkable performances after showing his golf talent in his childhood. He has grown up to be an outstanding golf course designer. His company Nicklaus Design has architected 31 golf courses worldwide so far.

The size and accomplishments of the Forest City give Jack Nicklaus II a deep impression, since he finds out that the construction completed is just a portion of the larger project and more exciting support facilities will be built in the near future. Jack Nicklaus II and his father have already drawn up the blueprint of the golf courses planned in Forest City.

The Significance of the Golf Courses in Forest City

Forest City is speeding up the launch of a series of projects covering a wide range of industries, including an approved free trade zone and a duty-free shop. Once the construction of the golf courses in Forest City is completed, eco-tourism will be developed into one of the region's thriving sectors.

Ismail Ibrahim, Iskandar Regional Development Authority chief executive indicates that the combination of golf courses with other tourism products and projects in Iskandar will help the region become a preferred destination for golfers and tourists. As Forest City further develops with golf courses, it will continue to play a key role in Iskandar's transformation into one of the world's key travel and tourism destinations, opening up new and exciting business opportunities.
